Roteb Lease, the vehicle leasing and maintenance company of the Municipality of Rotterdam, has been working for the Dutch Government for over 20 years. They have a car park of 2,500 diesel vehicles and need to replace them with electric ones in order to take action towards the 2030 sustainability goals.
The stakeholder is the Municipality of Rotterdam and their mission is to take care of the people and of the city, so they want Roteb Lease to also play a role in this. But what role can a vehicle leasing and maintenance company have in doing good for the city and people? This is the moment we got in.
The first step was to collect find the patterns, behaviors and preferences of travelers with regards to all road means of transportation – car, bus, tram, train, bike – then prioritized all the data and draw conclusions.
The second step was to look into trends, from global policies, national policies, industry trends, consumer trends to technology trends. After knowing where the world is going and what opportunities exist, we created a business strategy for development.
The result was a clear, strategic, opportunistic and sustainable direction for development, which was translated into actionable steps with clear objectives, defined team roles, created a marketing strategy, identified key success criteria and strategies to overcome possible bottlenecks.
